Peace for Life Ghana (PLG), a registered NGO with the Registrar Generals department, ED certified by TechSoup and was established in 2012 and operates in the West Mamprusi, East Mamprusi, Bunkpurugu and Moaduri districts of the north east region of Ghana. Together with our partners, we contribute to economic, institutional, social and environmental development and poverty reduction in line with the policy priorities of the government of Ghana and the recently launched sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Our aim is to reduce poverty and increase sustainable economic development through capacity building. We focus our activities in five related sectors: advocacy and value chain development, Food security, Health and sanitation, financial inclusion and women empowerment, local governance and citizenship. Peace does not only mean the absence of conflict. Peace is good health. It is prosperity, and it is freedom. We work with the local authorities to promote peace through human development by tackling poverty with a holistic approach. This includes projects that improve child and maternal health; increase access to good sanitation and health; scale up farm production; and enhance community level savings and lending
The target groups of PLG are the Youth, women and people living with disabilities. PLG has a nine-member Board of advisers made-up of four men and five women with diverse professional experience relevant to the core mandate of the organization, which provide policy guidance and advice to the leadership of the organization.
